These priority areas represent the highest burden areas for cancer control in the state, and reflect UCAN’s desire to achieve meaningful and lasting impact during the next five years.
Reduce cancer incidence and mortality through prevention and control, advocacy, partnerships, and survivorship. Utilizing the Utah Comprehensive Cancer Prevention and Control Plan, UCAN will work to address the unequal burden of poor health outcomes by identifying and eliminating barriers to health equity.
No Utahn will suffer unduly from cancer.
The Utah Cancer Action Network (UCAN) is Utah’s comprehensive cancer control coalition, comprised of a diverse, professional group of stakeholders from across the state.
Work collectively to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive plan (The Utah Comprehensive Cancer Prevention and Control Plan) to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality in Utah.
The Utah Comprehensive Cancer Prevention and Control Plan (State Cancer Plan) guides the work of UCAN and others involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of cancer control efforts in Utah.
