If a member of my family has breast cancer, am I more likely to get it?

If you have a family history of breast cancer, you may be more likely to develop it than those who do not have a family history of the condition.

If you have a family history of breast cancer, it is important that you speak with your doctor to determine your specific risk, what you can do to prevent it and how often you should be screened.

However, 90% of women who get breast cancer have no family history of the condition.
